Our pop-up performance is planned for 3pm on Saturday, March 22nd, provided there is enough interest.
It will take place on the front lawn of the Heart House, 1301 3rd Street SE.
Everyone is invited to perform - young or old, known or unknown.
It’s meant to be experienced as a participant, rather than viewed as a spectator.
The title of the event is spring hopes eternal and the score is as follows:
for multiple performers, on or around the first day of spring
a specific date, time, location, and signal word or gesture for the event are agreed upon.
each performer prepares by putting on as many pieces of winter outerwear as possible (coats, hats, scarves, gloves, etc), keeping in mind they’ll need to be taken off quickly and easily.
performers arrive at the location from different directions, a few moments before the agreed upon time.
when the signal word or gesture is given, each person removes their winter items at the same time, throwing them on the ground to create a single giant pile.
the pile should remain intact long enough for performers and bystanders to appreciate the moment and the temporary sculpture that emerged from it.
